Haruka was created as a fan character for the Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer franchise. However he has been expanded into a modern AU (henceforth referred to as the Wisteria AU).
He's a quiet boy who prefers to keep his strong, tumultuous feelings inside and a calm and collected facade on the outside.

Haruka's color scheme in both universes are navy blue and beige with pink and gold as accent colors.
He's very small, both in stature and weight, and this shows up in how oversized his clothes tend to look on him.

His expression is generally emotionless, though he is quicker to show annoyance than happiness or sadness.
He's also left-handed!

Repeating visual themes with him are Japanese cranes and white rabbits.

In the Demon Slayer universe, his hair is long and tied into a ponytail. The gradient in his hair should remain only there. In the Wisteria AU, his hair is more along the lines of a mullet and the pink remains in the back of his hair. Both universes, his hair is messy.

Haruka has scars on his hands which he tends to hide in long and baggy sleeves. In the DS universe, we don't often see them.

Ryu
In the Demon Slayer universe Haruka and Ryu have partnered up to go after demons together. In spite of how opposite their personalities are, Haru regards Ryu highly and admires his zest. At times Ryu's energy overwhelms or even bothers Haruka, but deep down he loves this about him. They are secretly in love but not romantically involved in this universe.

In the Wisteria AU, the pair meet when Ryu is Haruka's hairdresser. Eventually they begin to fight demons together. Eventually Haruka confesses his feelings for Ryu and the pair date.

Hanabi
Hanabi is Haruka's childhood friend and roommate.
As they are both gay, they have often served as each other's beards and have grown up helping each other through the hardships of being queer.
​
Before meeting Ryu, Hanabi was the only person Haruka ever felt safe around and he shows his emotions more freely around her. He loves Hanabi more than anything and would do anything for her, which is good because Hanabi's a bit hapless.
Akiko
Akiko is Haruka's younger sister.
In the Demon Slayer universe, she was on the path to become a strong slayer like her brother and oldest sister. However, right on her way to final selection, she turned back and decided to find her brother who had gone MIA.

In the Wisteria AU she is effectively cut off from her brother when their parents kicked him out. Haruka and Akiko were very attached to each other (in both universes) and the pain of not being allowed to see Akiko hurts Haruka deeply.
Fuyuko
Fuyuko is Haruka's oldest sister.
In the Demon Slayer universe, Fuyuko succesfully became a demon slayer and was poised to become a pillar. However she was brutally murdered by a demon on her first mission. This caused Haruka's parents to be stricter on him and Akiko as they did not want them to fail like their older sisters.

In the Wisteria AU, Fuyuko, much like Haruka, is very guarded with her feelings. The pressure of being the oldest daughter to abusive parents cracks her and she runs away. She does not maintain contact with her siblings as she resents having being punished for their mistakes. Haruka misses her, but does not try to reach out due to guilt.
Natsuko
Natsuko is Haruka's second oldest sister.
In the Demon Slayer universe, Natsuko is pulled out of demon slayer training as it became evident she would not be successful. She resents Haruka and Akiko for this.

In the Wisteria AU, she feels ostracized and ignored by her parents who focus more on their oldest and youngest daughters, and their only son. Because of this, she also takes to antagonizing her siblings. Haruka is afraid of her but wishes he could reach her.

backstory
DEMON SLAYER UNIVERSE:
Haruka comes from a long line of demon slayers and acrobats. Children in his household who do not become demon slayers instead work for the family traveling acrobatic show. Because of this, while Haru is not the strongest physically, he has an extra edge in terms of speed, agility and flexibility. His breath style is a derivation of wind: breath of sighs.
His family's usual form of punishment was hitting his hands with a thin reed, often making them bleed and causing a large amount of scarring. Because of this, Haru keeps his hands hidden in his haori, which is already too big for him.
​
He and Ryu meet and team up to fight demons as fellow pillars. As they go along, they begin to develop feelings for each other. However Haruka refuses to tell Ryu about this or even acknowledge these feelings as he feels it's hopeless because they are destined to fight demons until they die. When Ryu is killed by a demon, Haruka has a meltdown and resigns. He spends the rest of his life isolated in a cabin, begrudgingly training aspiring slayers with his sister Akiko.

KNY SPOILERS AHEAD In this AU, he would've filled in Muichiro's gap in the pillars, something he feels awful about. He is extremely resentful towards his parents in this regard as they do not care that a child had to die for him to become a pillar. END SPOILERS
WISTERIA AU
In this modern AU, the Fujiwara family runs a shrine, of which Haruka was poised to be the priest. His parents still emotionally and physically abuse him much like in the KNY universe and therefore Haruka still has scars on his hands.
When his dad finds out Haruka is gay, he kicks him out and disowns him and Haruka is forced to live with Hanabi and her family until college when him and Hanabi become roommates.
​
Hanabi recommends Ryu, her hairdresser, to Haruka and the two quickly develop an attraction for each other. As they transition into a friendship, they also return into fighting demons together: this time Haruka lures them out with his priest knowledge and Ryu purifies them with his sword.
​
Because of his ability to connect with spirits, Haruka begins to recover memories from the Demon Slayer past. As his feelings towards Ryu strengthen, he resolves to not let his love go unknown in spite of his fear of expressing his emotions.
personality
Growing up in his strict family, Haru was punished for displaying any emotions. Punished for complaining or crying during training, punished for being an excitable little kid, and so on, as his family saw this as a lack of discipline. Because of this, Haruka now reserves a cold and calm exterior with the only hint of his emotion being long sighs. However inside he is not only very emotional, but extremely whiny.
He loves calmness and in the Wisteria AU is pursuing a masters in library studies.
